Tiny + giant works in paper, made in San Francisco.
NEWS • 2015
JUNE 2015: So much is happening, I just can't keep up! I'm so proud to announce I have been awarded an Artist-In-Residence position at the de Young Museum! I will most likely be attending for the month of May 2016, but we are still working out the details. I will definitely be updating here as things fall into place, but feel free to follow me on Instagram (@tiffanieturner) to keep up with my recent work and workshops!
In addition to the de Young residency, I have been awarded a week long residency at Olde Orchard Farm in Moultonborough, NH. I am so excited to attend this residency, which will run September 13-19th, 2015, and I will be holding an all-day workshop at the end of that week. This is just a few miles from the house I grew up in, so I am just thrilled to be able to spend a week there making art.
I have a piece showing at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek in a new show entitled "BOTANICA: All Things Plant Life". This is going to be an incredible show with work from over 100 artists! The opening is Sunday, July 12 from 3;5:00 p.m. I hope to see you there! In addition, I will be teaching a workshop at the Bedford Gallery as part of BOTANICA. That workshop is on paper poppies, and you can find registration information in the "WORKSHOPS" section of my website.
Stay tuned. There are a lot of other great things brewing at the moment, and I'll update again here soon!
MARCH 2015: Currently I am working on a string of large scale commissions, a book proposal, and waiting to hear about several other opportunities. I am also trying to squeeze in some time for my new favorite thing, dead paper flowers. Find a collection of a few of them HERE.
JANUARY 2015: I'm proud to announce the opening of Dead of Winter, a show I put together that is currently hanging at Rare Device in San Francisco. This show features ten artists, including myself, working in a wide range of media. It is a gorgeous show. I have been so busy arranging and hanging it that will just barely have my own piece done in time. The opening reception is Friday night, January 9th, 2015 from 6-8:00. The Rare Device gallery is located at 600 Divisadero (at Hayes) here in San Francisco. Please join us if you can!
Image below is a portion of a beautiful piece by The Jealous Curator herself, Danielle Krysa.
Here is a peek at my piece, entitled "For Shame". I cannot tell you how long I've waited for an opportunity to work on a decomposing flower. I have learned so much about flower structure working on this piece and I am eager to explore this much further. You can read about all ten of the artists on the Rare Device blog here. I hope you can stop by to see the show. It runs through February 4, 2015.
WINTER WORKSHOPS
I'm starting to book 2015 workshops, including a fun Valentine's Day themed trio of workshops in Los Angeles! Find them here.
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
I am delighted to share four new beautiful, two-dimensional pieces of work done in collaboration with UK artist Simone Truong.
